Leon Redbone Phoenixville PA. Nove 21st, 2009

On November 21st, 2009 I played in Phoenixville PA., at the Colonial Threatre( the same theatre they used to film The Blob ! in 1958??? or so) The audience didn't run screaming from the theatre that night so I guess it was a good show.

I was playing my Gretsch Syncromatic and my 1925 National Tri Cone Style 2 1/2 , and on the other side of the stage was Vince Giordano playing Upright Bass, Tuba and Bass Sax.

Leon was in rare form that night, taking requests as the audience would yell them out.

This was my 2nd time at the Colonial and hopefully we'll return again next year.

The Band in Basking Ridge NJ !

On Sunday September 27th we had the honor of performing at a wedding reception for a very unique bunch of friends and family ! For those of you that don't know, I am also a part time musician. I formed the Blackbird Society Orchestra in 1994 with the intentions of recreating the music of the "Jazz Age"- the 1920s-30s. We play music from the late 1800s to the late 1930s. The band can range from a duo to a full 10pc formal dance orchestra that reads authentic music charts from the 1920s/30s . That's me up there on the right playing guitar playing with my longtime musical friend Michael Salsburg on violin. This evening we were joined by a good friend of mine Scott Black on cornet. Scott has been playing for more years than he likes to admit(!) and is regarded as one of the best cornet players in Traditional Jazz. We have both shared the stage with Leon Redone over the past 10 years ( Scott for 25).
This evening was the celebration of Pat & Jiwooks wedding! They got married a few months back in California but since his family is from north NJ, they came home for a party...and what a party it was !

Baby Joey !

Joey is only 4 months here, all dressed up in his Christening outfit! His proud parents, Alisha & John, got married in 2008 and allowed me to shoot their wedding. Their genuine love of family and friends is evident by their love of photographs and Joey has quickly become my most photographed client ! he loves the camera almost as much as his parents love him and will someday understand why this guy is always showing up to stick a camera in his face !
